Preschool program

Our preschool is a play-based program for children ages 2 - 5. We believe children learn through play when it is engaging, enjoyable, creative and exciting. In this setting children will be provided with long periods of uninterrupted play time where they have the opportunity to follow their own interests, initiate activities and be self-directed with the support of the teacher and aides. To enhance their learning, intentional teaching will complement their playing with a focus on social-emotional learning. Group play is encouraged, to ensure children know how to listen, share, and follow the rules and routines of the classroom. Our goal is to help young children promote self-regulation by learning strategies to identify and process their emotions. This is where friendships begin to form, as well as learning to address their own needs and wants. We offer daily circle time, sensory activities, movement breaks, arts and crafts, science experiments and food exposure. With the best outcome for your child in mind, this program is intentionally a small group and individualized to your child's needs and interests.

Meet the teacher

 Kathrine Marano

Katie graduated with her bachelor’s in Anthropology and Sociology with a concentration and minor in Graphic Design. After working with children in multiple child care settings, she decided to then move forward and pursue a master of Arts in Teaching from Sacred Heart University.

Katie taught in elementary schools for a few years before taking a step back to raise her three children at home. Being home with her children really sparked her passion for early childhood education and it was then that she knew she was made to teach in a preschool setting.

Katie enjoys hiking, the beach, baking and gardening. She can’t wait to add chickens and goats as well to her property very soon!
